Abstract
Periods of high and low abundance are revealed in dynamics of the Russian chum salmon population in 1907–2025. The period of high abundance with recorded annual catches from 58,000 to 185,000 tons lasted from the mid-1920s to the mid-1960s, followed by the low abundance one with the catches from 21,000 to 70,000 tons lasting until the mid-2000s. Currently, the stocks are at a high level again.
